BiUP at Three Conferences: Discovering Publications, Starting Conversations

October 8, 2026 2 min. reading time

Last month, BiUP was represented with bookstalls at three conferences at Bielefeld University: the conference of the German Society for Cognitive Linguistics, the Congress for Women's and Gender History, and the Conference for History Education.

We brought along new releases, our most popular publications, as well as books that matched the themes of each event. This allowed visitors to discover books related to their research interests, while also gaining a direct impression of BiUP and the opportunities for academic publishing with us.

This personal exchange is an important part of our work as a publisher. It gives us insight into current research questions and shows which publication formats and topics are relevant to the academic community. At the same time, we want to introduce researchers and other interested visitors to our programme and way of working: we not only want to publish academic work, but also to support researchers in making their work visible and accessible.

BiUP stands for academic publishing in Open Access. This means that our publications are freely accessible worldwide, without a paywall. We thank everyone who visited our bookstalls, as well as the conference organisers.

At the end of October, we will be back with a bookstall at Bielefeld University. Further information will follow shortly on our social media channels.

Would you like to explore our programme right away? All our publications are available in Open Access on our website.
